2016-17 SATW Foundation Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition
All entries are due by midnight Eastern time April 1. Most entries must be done electronically at this website. Magazine issues, books and a few other mail-in categories must be received by April 1.
This competition is the premier recognition of excellence in travel journalism. The 33rd annual contest has 23 categories for print, online and multimedia work, travel photography, broadcast and blogs. Faculty at the Missouri School of Journalism does the judging.
For most categories, the fee is $20 per individual entry. The cost is $50 for a few categories, including Grand Award. Fees are noted in the summary of your entries. An auto calculation button shows the total, which can be paid with a credit card via PayPal or by check.
Only North American journalists, including ones working overseas, can enter. Work by foreign journalists is not eligible unless they live in North America.
