- Outside production may be eligible if planning, scripting and ideas originated with Farm Bureau staff and reasons for going outside are fully explained.

- One entry per category per state.

- The name or names of those most directly responsible for the entry must be submitted, but please limit the number of names for each entry.

- Judges with industry expertise will select only one winning entry per category and are asked to submit an evaluation rubric and brief written comments/critiques for each entry. Judges have the option to grant “honorable mentions.” If fewer than three entries are received in any category, the judge will consult with the contest organizers to determine whether an award is warranted. Judges’ decisions will be final, and they have authority to reject any entry that does not adhere to these Rules and Guidelines.

- To enter the contest as a new contestant, please submit your name, state and membership category (Group 1-2, 3-4 or 5-6) via email to: Sandra O’Rourke (sandra@cornerwindowcommunications.com). She will send you the required log-in information. If you have previous log-in information for the contest website, it remains the same. If you have forgotten your log in information, email Ms. O’Rourke.

- Physical, non-digital entries will be accepted for the Dave Lane Award for Media Relations Excellence. Physical, non-digital entries for other categories may be accepted upon request, depending on circumstances.

- New! Submission of a fillable PDF entry form is highly recommended (but not required) for the Digital, Open and PR & Media Relations categories and optional for all other categories. This is your opportunity to provide narrative information to enhance your entry beyond what is evident in the product. Be truthful, be concise, but make your case. If you prefer not to submit an entry form, brief notes about submissions may be entered in a comment box.

- In all categories, professionalism and relevance to the Farm Bureau mission will be the primary characteristics evaluated by the judges. They will decide whether the entry meets current standards of each discipline as practiced by full-time editors, writers, reporters, artists, photographers and technicians. They will also weigh the impact of the entry’s effectiveness in furthering Farm Bureau’s philosophy and strategic positions on public policy issues as appropriate.
