The WNAF High School Better Newspaper Contest recognizes excellence in student journalism across the state.
Submissions to the 2018-2019 contest must have appeared in print or online between Sept. 1, 2017 - Dec. 31, 2018.
Awards will be presented at the annual WNA Convention & Trade Show on Friday, March 8, 2019, at The Madison Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison.
There is a $7.50 entry fee for each entry. Payment must be made before the contest deadline and can be submitted via credit card, PayPal or check.
Checks should be made payable to the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation.
General Excellence: Before mailing hard-copy submissions, entrants must submit information about the entry online, including uploading PDFs of each front page. A contest label will then be generated and should be printed and affixed to hard copies.

Any student enrolled in a Wisconsin public, parochial or private senior high school is eligible.
Entry divisions are:
Division A: Newspapers from schools with fewer than 500 students
Division B: Newspapers from schools with more than 500 students
Entries will be merged into the next highest category automatically if a category received three or fewer entries.
