This is the second year that NYABJ is utilizing an online submission system for our competition. Please enter the competition with plenty of time before the deadline, so that we can ensure the contest runs smoothly.
We aim to recognize exemplary coverage of people or issues in the African/African American Diaspora. The competition is open to all professional (staff and freelance) journalists in print, broadcast or online news media.
NYABJ members can submit up to three (3) entries for $50. Non-NYABJ members will pay $50 per entry. Fees will be paid through PayPal on our Better Newspaper Contest website. (We are NOT accepting checks via postal mail service.)
If you experience troubles submitting your work through the online system, Better Newspapers Contest has some capacity to answer your questions. NYABJ will also do its best to answer any questions, and help you through the submission process.
Only work originally published or broadcast during the judging period of January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016 is eligible for consideration.
